Often the characters ha
ve lost their desire to succeed and see a future with no hope, no promise, no American Dream. Many of today’s young people have such a tale. They face economic and social barriers that have been there from the start of life and are often beyond their control. Their despair has caused many to give up on themselves and their families. It’s a narrative that seems to have become the norm in society. Creating a positive change in that teen’s life can be a challenge.
“To make a change in a young person’s life” –
that’s Connecting2Tomorrow’s goal.
Our purpose is to help young people answer the questions:
“What am I doing?” “Where am I going?”
Life is a process and, developing one’s future, is a process as well. Steven Tyler once said:
“If you don’t have a dream, you can’t make one come true.” By introducing common sense decision-making principles and other basic fundamental life skills we encourage them to manage their lives and take an active interest in their own future. By promoting responsibility, a strong work ethic, and positive life choices, we strive to help teens create and work towards a dream.
Connecting2Tomorrow, by using a “talk the talk and walk the walk” approach, intends to address these issues and to put dreams into action. Our plan is to help the young people of the community who are at risk of not succeeding or reaching their full potential. Our mission and vision is to teach skills that create a positive change and assist in creating a brighter future for those who feel they do not have one.
This challenge can be met with your help. Many of us have the ability to make a connection in someone’s life. By volunteering, donating, sharing ideas, mentoring, or supporting our programs, you can help a young person make positive choices and create a quality lifestyle. The possibilities are endless. We can help those who struggle at school; those who have a less than positive home life; those who lack good role models; and those who keep on repeating the same wrong choices. We can help make improvements. Together we can make a difference! Together we can empower the future!!!
Albert Einstein said, “Everyone is a genius, but if you judge a fish on its ability to climb a tree, it will live its entire life believing it is stupid.” How are we judging or letting our kids be judged?
We will discover that our target audience aspires to be more and do more. They did not choose to have a life lacking structure, independence, and achievement. They did not choose to join a team that loses every game. They will enjoy the success they experience in our program. Success levels will be measured differently for everyone. It is striving to be the best you can be and do the best you can!
The Board of Directors, organizational staff, and volunteers thank you for being a part of this journey!
